The definition of cuteness - On my way back from the toilet, I looked in on James. He was fast asleep but sat upright.
He has a small cushion, about 18" x 18" which he was holding in both hands and nibbling at like it was a cartoon pizza.
I went in and lay him down at which point he started licking at his fingers.
I guess he really really loves pizza.
Picture Messaging - The novelty of photo messaging still hasn't worn off yet. And it's still free. Hover over the photos below to see details of the message it was sent with.
From paul to sharon: I love you honey. I wish you could stay at home to help you. I'll ring you later. From sharon to paul: PantsFrom paul to sharon: You are my world.
From paul to sharon: LunchFrom sharon to paul: What pizza do you want? A heatwave? From paul to sharon: Yes please
Dear Diary - Today didn't suck.
When I woke up, the heating had taken the chill off the house.
I didn't have to scrape ice off the car.
I felt like I acheived something at work this morning. I got some advice completed and discussed with my new boss.
I went to meet a client with my new boss this afternoon and performed well.
As the meeting was closer to home than work, I came straight home and was home by 4.45pm.
At no point in the afternoon did I feel like I would fall asleep if I let my eyes close for more than 2 seconds.

Just because.
My mug, my desk.

I love having a camera attached to my phone. I can take pictures at any time and send them to my wife. Until the free offer ends and its costs, like, 50p a time or something.
The curse of theaardvark - Yesterday I made a post about the GeoURL ICBM Address Server. I've had the site on my favourites for ages whilst I got around to adding this site to it and then posting. So less than 24 hours after I finally got around to it, the site went bump. Arseburgers! Well, maybe it'll come back.

Mad as a fruitcake! - Two prime examples of people who are not only totally of their rockers, but don't seem to care who knows it. Either that or they are so totally insane that they can't see the madness of what they are presenting to the world. The first is you common-or-garden nutcase. The second is a kind of mental delusion that borders on genius but just can't quite grasp the realities of this world.
Stopabductions.com - I would like to believe that this is a satirical site, written with a tongue firmly placed in a cheek. However, there are just enough people who actually believe this sort of stuff for it to be true. Vaguely reminiscent of the Aluminium Foil Deflector Beanie (link a little temperamental at the time of writing) so it loses mark for unoriginality I'm afraid.
The Chrysler concept Motorcycle - Now not only is this seriously loopy, but it has to gain major kudos points for being the result of the combined effort of a group of nut jobs. And they then managed to convince some senior management at Chrysler that not only was this a sane and rational idea, but that they should be proud of it and show it off to the world. Its just so ridiculous that I actually want one. I have this incredible, manic, unnatural desire to cling for my dear life to a sci-fi movie prop whilst it travels at up to 400mph. Shit! This insanity is so potent its contagious.
Game on - I'm a sucker for games that fill an empty minute or too. Unfortunately they also tend to fill the following 10 or 20 minutes the weren't supposed to be empty. Topping my list this week are:
The Supaaaa Sushi Race - A bizarre micro-machines style car race using sushi food as the transport of choice. As an additional bonus (or as a slight downside depending on your view point), completion of each level is rewarded with a cartoon nude Japanese woman. Result! Take a look at some of the artwork on the parent site too (the game opens up as a pop up when you click on this link to the parent site). Niiiice. If only it weren't immoral (and illegal) I'd be pinching some of that and doing a rework on this fine vessel.
Gridlock - Another version of an old classic. Some good styling puts this one well above the average though. And the good thing about this sort of classic is that it never dates or gets tired.

I'm over here! - I added myself to the GeoURL ICBM Address Server. Click anywhere on their world map and you'll get a list of websites with locations near by. Alternatively you can find out who's close to me by clicking here:GeoURL
Media Savvy - Sharon and I got phones with photo messaging recently. Mine came before NYE and Sharon's arrived today.
Today I sent her:
Connor at 6 monthsMy desk at workMy view on the way home

And as a reply I got shown what was waiting for me when I got home:
The kids!

Whilst Orange continues the free photo messaging offer then this could be quite cool. I can't say as I'd pay for it though.
Unclean - A VIRUS! My virus checker just detected a virus! How on earth did this happen? I don't remember doing anything recently that would allow a virus onto my machine.
Ew! I feel so..... dirty.
Day 3 - Don't worry, I won't keep this up for long. Yesterday at work was better, if only because my could is receding. However, I still spent most of the day feeling tired and drained of energy.I hope that this is only temporary and that I can overcome it. I know in the past that this feeling has been a major cause in my lack of motivation, or maybe its a symptom?
I really want to do well in this role. I really need to do OK to continue to support my family. I have to overcome the lack of motivation that sets in as soon as a job becomes routine. I hope that the fact that the new company is very small (6 people plus me) and friendly will go some way toward cracking this.

Day 2 - Already I'm hating getting up in the mornings. But I guess that comes with any job.
Day 1 was not the disaster it could have been. The people there are a very nice bunch. Friendly and open they helped me to settle in. Unfortunately I was full up with a stinking cold yesterday which left me feeling very woolly headed and having difficulty concentrating. Combined with my recent lack of practice in technical stuff this left me feeling a touch out of my depth at times. However, I'm sure that this is just a temporary thing and that I'll soon get up to speed (to mix a few metaphors).
Yesterday morning, at about this time (06:45) I would have posted the following. Unfortunately Blogger was having a hissy fit and refused to let me post.

Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye! - OK, so I'm not exactly off to was (the title is a quote from an old WWII song) but in 20 minutes I'm off to start my new job.
I don't mind telling you that I'm a little nervous. Its been 6 months since I was made redundant and over 2 years since I did the sort of technical work I'm going to be doing again. I know that I should be able to pick it all up again with no hassle, but still....
Yesterday, in the middle of dinner, I had an anxiety attack. It doesn't help that I'm feeling under the weather at the moment with a really nasty cold.
So, I can't hang around here too much longer. I'm off. I'll let you know later how it goes.
