Wherefore art thou? - Over a week without a post. I'm sorry.
Unfortunately it has not been due to a lack of things to post about. It has been mainly due to a major de-motivation to do anything that is not absolutely necessary.

Work, dammit! - Friday was my last day as a Van Driver. Despite it being hard, poorly paid work I was a touch saddened to be leaving it behind. There's a certain attraction to a job that is finished at the end of each day and starts afresh the next morning. There's no overnight stress to take home with you. I start my new job (back to VAT consulting) on 6 January. It has been so long since I have done that type of work that I am more than a little worried about it.

Celebrate good times come on! - To celebrate(?) the fact that I've rejoined the ranks of the unemployed, all be it temporarily, I decided to do something I haven't done for ages. I decided to go out to Fidget. Fidget is an after-club, a place for people to go when mainstream clubs close if they aren't ready to go home. It opens at 4am Sunday morning and closes at 9am. Because of the hours we work, these are often the only clubs that DJs can get into if we want a night out. Fidget is run by my very good friend Barry Diston. As usual, a very good night was had, although I spent a few days regretting it afterwards. I'm too old these days to go missing out on an entire nights sleep.

Like buses...... - With the exception of the discussion I had with my new employer, I've not had even a sniff of a job interview for nearly six months. Then, last Tuesday, I had 2 phone calls from 2 recruitment agents with 2 vacancies resulting in 2 interviews set up for yesterday (Tuesday). I already have a job lined up which is due to start in January, but it would be daft not to go along to the interviews.
It wasn't until after I had arranged the interviews that I remembered I have pink hair!
I spent an entire week washing my hair twice a day but still it was a light pink. So come Monday (when I was still feeling more than a little hung-over from my weekend antics) we bleached my hair (twice!) and cut it to a blade 3. Unfortunately it remained slightly pink. So we had to dye it a dark blond.
Come Tuesday morning and the exertions of the previous week finally caught up with me. I had worked all week, DJ'ed Thurs, Fri and Sat and partied through Sat night straight into Sunday afternoon. I awoke on Tuesday feeling like I had a very nasty flu. I ached all over, my mind was a complete mess and it took 2 cans of red bull just to stop me falling asleep as I drove. I felt truly awful.
As you can imagine, I didn't give the best performance in either interview. By the end of the morning's interview I was close to tears and ready to cancel the session set up for the afternoon. The afternoon's was the better of the two, but only just. Thank god I'm not relying on these for a job.
