Unreal. I don't remember ever waking screaming as a child after a nightmare, but I do recall the disorientation and surreal feeling that a particularly vivid bad dream can cause and how difficult it can be to shake. So how do you console and comfort a 3 year old who has just awoken from what appears to be a particularly disturbing nightmare?
Real. This is the first day for a week when the whole family has been home (although Chloe and James were out for part of the day time). With all of the disturbance and detachment of the previous week, the arrival of Connor didn't seem to form part of my normal life. Now that our lives are returning to some normality, Connor seems to feel part of that.
